The 3rd largest island in the Calamian group of islands north of Palawan, Coron Island is about 310 kilometers southwest of Manila. Large granite rock formations make up most of the islands around Coron. It is well known for several shipwreck sites of Japanese WWII naval vessels. Coron is one of the most visited diving destinations in the Philippines.
